Teaching Tips Exchange

Beginning November 2011 and running throughout the Spring 2012 semester, CFE staff members will be sending out a weekly tip on teaching large sections that includes an evidence-based rationale for the tip and links to related resources. Topics will reflect the time of the semester.

The tips for this series will be posted on the new CFE 100+ blog devoted to teaching large classes. Once you receive the email notification with the web link to the tip, we encourage you to visit the blog to share your own experiences and comments related to the tip of the week!

To receive the weekly tips, you must enroll in the CFE’s new Professional Interests Manager. This web-based service allows you to select professional development topics of interest to you. Subsequently you receive email-based notifications only about resources related to the topics that you have selected.

To sign up for the Teaching Large Classes tips series, follow these instructions:

1. Go to cfe.unc.edu/pim.
2. Log in with your Onyen.
3. Select the interest “Teaching large sections” under Course Design and Planning (you may select other interests as well!) and Save.
4. Set your email frequency (to weekly if you would like to receive the teaching tip weekly).
