For Your Consideration
This series of short monographs addresses topics of special interest related to teaching strategies and instructional methods. Written for faculty and teaching assistants, the monographs contain relevant research, summaries of current practice, and practical suggestions for teaching in a variety of disciplines.

Please note that these monographs were originally published by the Center for Teaching and Learning, which has become the Center for Faculty Excellence. Over the coming months these publications will be updated. The original publications will continue to be listed as Center for Teaching and Learning publications, and revisions and newly-created FYCs will be listed as Center for Faculty Excellence publications.

TAs and Professors as a Teaching Team (.pdf)
Published in 1992 by the Center for Teaching and Learning, this manual was written in response to faculty requests for guidelines that would help them work more effectively with their TAs. It is based on surveys and interviews with faculty, TAs, and administrators at UNC and other research universities.

Teaching at Carolina (.pdf)
The Teaching at Carolina handbook, published in 1991 by the Center for Teaching and Learning, was designed as a reference work that instructors can consult when they have questions or want information on a specific aspect of teaching.

Teaching for Inclusion (.pdf)
Published in 1997 by the Center for Teaching and Learning.

Developed by the UNC Writing Center in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning.
