The CFE offers workshops that enable faculty members to learn and practice methods of instruction that research shows to be effective. During a workshop, CFE staff or an experienced faculty member might explain and demonstrate a teaching approach. Or we might have a panel discussion about a topic designed to give faculty ideas about pedagogies or teaching approaches that they tailor to meet their own needs.

The CFE offers workshops in tune with requests from faculty members. In the past, these have included workshops on:

  • Hacking your Class on using instructional technologies to support active learning approaches such as polls and other low-stakes assessments
  • Teaching in Challenging times on pedagogies and approaches for inclusive teaching
  • Aligning student learning goals with evaluation methods
