Distance Learning

Before you make decisions about what software you will use, how often you will visit distance sites, or how best to use your teleconferencing time with students, it can be helpful to step back and reflect on your own expectations for distance learning. Respond to the following questions with a short brainstorm list.

  1. How do you think students learn in distance courses? How is it similar to or different from on-site course learning?
  2. What do you imagine your role to be as an instructor in a distance course?
  3. What role do you expect students will play in the learning process in a distance course?
