Dr. Erin Malloy is the Center’s fourth Director. Dr. Malloy is a Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Social Medicine and brings local and national experience in teaching and curriculum development as well as mentoring and faculty development. She is Director of Medical Student Education and Clerkship for the Department of Psychiatry and has taught and led several courses at the UNC School of Medicine, including its Professional Development course in the school’s new TEC Curriculum. She has been extensively involved in the SOM Larry Keith Advisory Colleges program since its inception in 2008. Dr. Malloy has been honored by several teaching awards, most recently the Hyman L. Battle Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Clinical Sciences in 2015, recognition for excellence in course development for the Psychiatry Clerkship with the Best Clinical Clerkship Award in 2014, and the Leonard B. Tow Humanism in Medicine Faculty Award in both 2012 and 2013. National involvement includes presentations and roles in the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry (ADMSEP) and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
