Dr. Malloy has served as the Director of the UNC Center for Faculty Excellence since 2016, and serves also as Associate Provost for Faculty Development and Success. In her time at the CFE, she has expanded the Center’s leadership development offerings with a strong commitment to leadership development of faculty at all career stages. Addtiionally, as the Lead Principal Inverstigator of Targeting Equity in Access to Mentoring (TEAM) ADVANCE, the campus NSF ADVANCE grant, she led the team in developing a multi-level approach to faculty mentoring that has made the CFE the nidus for faculty mentoring and mentor training at UNC. Dr. Malloy highly values her roles as a faculty member to provide additional perspective to faculty development program offerings. Dr. Malloy is Professor and Vice Chair for Faculty Development in the Department of Psychiatry and is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Social Medicine at the School of Medicine. She brings local and national experience in teaching and curriculum development as well as mentoring and faculty development. She has taught and led several courses at the UNC School of Medicine and played an integral role in building the SOM Larry Keith Advisory Colleges program. Dr. Malloy has been honored by several teaching awards, most recently the Academy of Educators Senior Faculty Award in 2023, as well as the Hyman L. Battle Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Clinical Sciences in 2015, recognition for excellence in course development for the Psychiatry Clerkship with the Best Clinical Clerkship Award in 2014, and the Leonard B. Tow Humanism in Medicine Faculty Award in both 2012 and 2013. She has held national leadership roles in the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry (ADMSEP) and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
