Encouraging Equity and Inclusion Through Multi-Stage Mentoring

Dr. Nina Lyon Bennett, the Director of Member Education and Research Delivery at the EAB, joins the CFE and TEAM ADVANCE in leading this workshop for Chairs, Senior Associate Deans, Faculty Development leaders, and others interested in creating mentoring programs and opportunities to advance equity and inclusion in faculty development at Carolina. Dr. Lyon Bennett brings a wealth of knowledge from her experience and from the EAB’s faculty development initiative publication, “Instilling Equity and Inclusion in Departmental Practices: Guiding Faculty Recruitment and Retention,” emphasizing building balanced, informed mentoring networks, clear definition of mentor and mentee roles, and communication of promotion and tenure requirements as some of many best practices.
