Navigating the First Two Weeks of Class
January 5, 2022, 1:00 PM - 1:50 PM EST
The first two weeks of class offer opportunities to learn more about your students, share expectations you have for each other, and illustrate the kind of learning environment you strive to create. It can also be a period of time in which you need or want to make changes to your initial plans for the course. This session uncovers practical strategies for engaging students, developing rapport, and communicating changes during the first several class meetings.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Identify characteristics of learners and their experiences which may influence your instructional choices
- Design activities which set the tone for the learning environment you hope to nurture throughout the semester
- Make plans for how changes to your course can be communicated effectively to students.
