Pedagogy Reading Circles
Each CFE Pedagogy Reading Circle is a small, self-regulated group of instructors who meet 3-4 times over the course of one month to engage with a common book. The two books selected for discussion during Spring Semester 2022 are Reach Everyone, Teach Everyone: Universal Design for Learning in Higher Education (Thomas J. Tobin & Kirsten T. Behling, 2018) and Teaching to Transgress: Education as the Practice of Freedom (bell hooks, 1994).
To join a Pedagogy Reading Circle, please complete our interest survey to indicate your preferred book and scheduling availability. CFE staff will then assign you to a group, notify you by January 28, and provide you with a free copy of your book (courtesy of the CFE). All meetings will be scheduled via Zoom.
What you can expect as a discussant: you’ll read a few chapters of your book prior to each meeting, reflect upon your teaching experiences, share insights and teaching strategies among colleagues, and co-facilitate group meetings as needed.
