Inviting Student Feedback During Your Course

September 22, 2021, 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM EDT

As instructors, we can learn a great deal about our teaching from students’ reflections on their experiences in the learning environments we’ve designed. This interactive workshop focuses on helping you differentiate between formative and summative questions for soliciting student feedback and develop your plan for activities before, during, and after collecting feedback throughout the semester. In preparation for this session, you could read “Why professors should ask students for feedback long before the semester is over” (Koenig, 2021) as a gentle introduction to the topics we’ll explore together. Any faculty and staff members, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars at Carolina who have instruction-related responsibilities are welcome.
