Leadership Fundamentals (Nomination Required)
Leadership Fundamentals is a cohort program for current or newly appointed leaders. The program begins with a focus on key leadership assessments and topics. Participants will learn leadership concepts and models, build specific skills, and practice mastery of those skills through real case studies and small group mentoring and coaching. Leaders will focus on how to continue to develop those skills and complete a targeted and specific individual leadership development plan.
Each part of this leadership program offers reflection, models and practice in leading effectively. Starting with self-reflection as a leader is the intentional pathway to interacting well with others. A commitment to all the sessions as a leadership cohort will provide the fundamental connections and collaborations to make learning meaningful, relevant and sustainable.
Part III: You and Leading in the University
In the third and final part of this program, we will review the decision-making choices available as a leader by identifying the types of decisions we engage in our academic settings, along with how we approach the challenges that warrant various decisions.
As a group, we will look at our most effective ways for setting priorities in conjunction with the many academic directions that emerge as a dynamic public research university.
Our program will finish with a draft individual leadership development plan that will direct your own leadership growth priorities as you continue your leadership journey.
