Self-efficacy, an individual’s belief in their capacity to execute the behaviors necessary to perform in a particular capacity, is essential for graduate students to be productive in their research. At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Define and articulate what self-efficacy is and its sources
- Articulate the mentor’s role in fostering mentees’ research self-efficacy
- Identify signs of self-efficacy in relation to research-related tasks
- Practice strategies for building mentees’ self-efficacy in research
