Leadership Development Advanced Program 2017-18 Session IX: Leadership Development Plans and Closing Celebration
May 10, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Leadership Advanced is a cohort program for leaders with two or more years of experience. It is focused on key leadership assessments and topics. Participants will learn leadership concepts and models, build specific skills, and practice mastery of those skills through real case studies and small group mentoring and coaching. Leaders will focus on how to continue to develop those skills and mentor others through a targeted and specific individual leadership development plan.

Each part of this leadership program offers reflection, models and practice in leading effectively. We start with self-reflection as a leader because this is the intentional pathway to interacting well with others. A commitment to all the sessions as a leadership cohort will provide the fundamental connections and collaborations to make learning meaningful, relevant and sustainable. As an experienced leadership cohort group we will engage a deliberate review of the group’s current successful leadership practices and build upon those shared experiences as we approach each session’s learning.
Part III: You and Leading in the University
Identifying the types of decisions we engage in our academic settings, along with how we approach the challenges that warrant various decisions, we will review the decision-making choices available as a leader.
We will look at our most effective ways for understanding and appreciating others’ perspectives that will inform and engage positive approaches to influence others.
Our program will finish with a draft individual leadership development plan that will direct your own leadership growth priorities as you continue your leadership journey.
